Laurence T. Winn

Barkhamsted:  Laurence T. Winn, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington.  He was the husband of Nancy (Norton) Winn.  Born in Winsted, August 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Fred and Laura (Pratt) Winn and had lived in the Winsted-Barkhamsted area all of his life.  During his working life, he was the Pay Master for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, retiring after 45 years of service.  Larry was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1949, very active in the Winsted Lodge BPOE #844 for many years and was active in the March of Dimes.  In addition to his loving wife of 61 years,  he is survived by four children, Terri Collins (Bill), Richard Winn (Diane Dileo) all of Pleasant Valley, Karen Drude (Peter) of Southwick, MA and Brian Winn (Karen) of Goshen; six grandchildren, a great grandchild and several nieces & nephews.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Samantha and by four brothers, Fred Winn, J. Bentley Winn, Donald Winn and William Winn.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 10:00 AM at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street in Winsted.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Pleasant Valley.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, 4-7 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation, 2150 North Lakeview Drive, Chicago, IL 60614-2256.  To leave an online condolence please visit, www.maloneyfuneral.com.
