Shirley Ann Haburey

Winsted:  Shirley Ann Haburey, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington.  She was the wife of the late Robert G. Haburey who died in 1996.  Born in Winsted, May 9, 1940, daughter of the late Eudore and Mary Ann (LaFlamme) Lemelin, she had lived here all of her life.  Shirley had attended local schools and had worked at several local factories before retiring from Sterling Sintered.  Shirley's survivors include three children, Robert Haburey, Jr., his wife Judy Grim of Winsted, Ted Buzinsky, his wife Anna Cross of Colebrook, and Rhonda (Buzinsky) Roy and her husband Michael of Winsted; three sisters, Claire Roe of Torrington, Doris Culzert of Terryville and Cecil Brayen and her husband Harry of Canaan; grandchildren, Edward Haburey, Taylor, Jessie & Jenna Buzinsky, Kara, Emily & John Mochak and Aidan, Jordan & Devan Roy; 10 nieces, including a special nephew, John Warner and special niece Carol Roe; special friends, Joan Winegar, Jerry and Joyce Groman, Walter & Marion Picard and Roland & Arlene Royer.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Laurette Lemelin, Donald Lemelin and a sister, Betty Ann Warner.  The family would like to thank the staff for the wonderful care given by Valerie Manor and the 5th floor staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and ask for memorial contributions be made to either of them.  Shirley's life was full of love for her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and wonderful friendships.  Although Shirley may have left this world, we haven't lost her.  To lose someone means you can't find them, but we know exactly where she is.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 PM at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street.  Burial will be held in the spring.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 PM prior to services.  To leave an online condolence please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
