John was a great tribute to Winsted.
He was a mentor for us kids. John and Bill Julian started a flag football camp for us kids. It was about learning the game and teamwork.
Always so upbeat. When you saw John, your day got better!!

I am deeply saddened by John's death. My sympathies to the Athorn family.
John and I have been friends for years and we enjoyed many,many good times together. John and I would often say we were out of similar molds and have a laugh about it.

Thank you Jeanne. I read your message a couple of days ago and wanted to let you know how much Blaine and I appreciate your condolences especially because of the recent loss of your sister. I've been thinking about Julie along with Blaine's Dad a lot over this past week and what genuine and special people they were in our life.
