William P. Russo

William P. Russo passed away peacefully on October 29, 2020; a week shy of his 94th birthday.  Bill, the son of Felix and Mary (Spugnardo) Russo, was born on November 5, 1926 in Winsted, CT.  He graduated from The Gilbert School in 1944, where he played baseball.  Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He worked as a machinist at Sterling Engineering Corp. in Barkhamsted for 43 years.  After retiring he enjoyed gardening, long walks and was a devoted Yankee fan.  He is survived by his neices JoAnne Russo and husband Gerry Biron of Saxtons River, VT; Mary-Ellen Russo-Jasinski of Bradenton, FL and her three children - Alena of St. Paul,MN; Alek, his fiance, Brianna and their daughter, Yonna of Port Charlotte, FL and Andru, his fiance Amber and their son Kai of Granby. CT.  Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, send a donation to your favorite charity.
