Richard (Dick) Werner Zimmerman

Winsted, CT:   Richard (Dick) Werner Zimmerman, 80, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021.  He was the husband of Gloria (Hubbard) Zimmerman.  Richard was born in Patterson, NJ on March 13, 1941, a son of the late Werner and Mary (Lambert) Zimmerman, he had spent most of his life in Winsted.  He had attended local schools and was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1959.  After graduation, he attended UConn for a short time before going into the tree business which he stayed with until his death, 47 years later.  He enjoyed coffee shops, McDonalds and the Whole Donut in Canton, stock car racing, Bible study, car shows in Torrington, car races and boxing on TV, going to the car races at Lebanon Valley in NY and listening to Elvis' music.  In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, he is survived by his children, two sons, Paul and Todd (Caroline) Zimmerman; 8 grandchildren, Jazmon, Talon, Darren, Anthony, Ava, Abby, Hannah and Delilah.  He was predeceased by two sons, Richard, Jr. and Bruce Zimmerman; a brother, Charles Zimmerman and a twin sister, Carol Dodge.  There are no services scheduled at this time.
