Norma Jarvis Obituary

Winsted:  Norma Elaine Jarvis, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at her home after a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of the late Donald A. Jarvis who died in 1994.  Born in Caribou, Maine, December 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Myrtle (Morrison) Lovely, and had lived in Winsted for over 70 years.  She was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1955.  Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Holiday Handicrafts in Winsted for 25 years and retired from O&G Industries in Torrington with 20 years of service.  During her lifetime, she was a member of the Winsted United Methodist Church where she was a devoted member who was always there to help with anything that was going on at the church.  She will certainly be missed by all who knew her.  Norma loved reading books of all kinds and watching BBC, CPTV and cooking shows.  She took care of, loved her grandchildren and always looked forward to the times they spent together.  She enjoyed crocheting and loved doing Puzzles. Vacations in Old Orchard Beach, ME, holiday dinners, baking pies, listening to country music artists and 50's rock to Dean Martin, Eddy Arnold & Glen Campbell.  Her survivors include her children, Brett (Beth) Jarvis of Canton, CT, Wade Jarvis of Winchester Center, Jill (Mike) Jacobs of Winsted; two brothers, Harold Lovely of Guilford and Peter (Jean) Lovely of Torrington; a sister, Linda (Barry) Bayette of Old Orchard Beach, ME; six grandchildren, Ian, Garrett, Joel, Drew, Samantha & Sarah.  She was predeceased by a son, Donald A. Jarvis, Jr. and a brother, Paul Lovely.  Funeral services and burial will be held at a date and time to be announced.  Keep checking the online obituary.  In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Winsted United Methodist Church.
