Michael Noviasky Obituary

Winsted:  Michael John Noviasky: 93, died on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Waterbury Hospital, after a long illness.  He was born in the Pine Meadow section of New Hartford, June 7, 1926, a son of the late Johann and Sophia (Hanecak) Noviasky and had lived in the New Hartford-Winsted area all of his life.  He attended local schools, joined the Army serving time in Germany during World War II.  When released home he worked at GE in Indiana and had rental houses as well as selling cars.  He retired after 26 years of service with UConn Health and previously for the state of CT.  He also worked for NWCC where he set up the audio visual equipment for their classes.  He enjoyed traveling to different states like New York and Kentucky and visiting relatives.  He had the ability to renovate, buses and vans in to camping vehicles and taking road trips to Virginia Beach and other states.  He enjoyed American food and had a sweet tooth especially ice cream.  He loved movies, especially westerns. Adventure movies and love stories.  He enjoyed reading the newspapers every day.  In his 80's, he took his grand kids to an amusement Park in Ohio where he rode the roller coaster with them.  He also enjoyed working on his house, doing electrical jobs and "fixing" things.  His survivors include five children, Michael J. (Dorothea) Broughton of Paint Lick, KY, Mark (Dale) Noviasky of Southington, Ruby Faye Noviasky, Matthew (Genevieve) Noviasky and Mitchell Noviasky all of Winsted; five grandchildren, Clovet, Ruby Faye, Margaret, Brandy and Calista; three great grandchildren, Gavin, Gage & Morgan and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Andrew, John Noviasky and four sisters, Anna Marnelli, Sophie Stoppa, Rose Blakesley and Mary Kelmellis.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019, 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery with full military honors.  Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home on Saturday morning, from 8:30-9:30 prior to mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School, in care of St. Joseph Church.
