Mary LeManquais Obituary

Torrington:  Mary Margaret LeManquais, 88. formerly of Colebrook, died on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Regal Health Care of Torrington, following a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of the later Robert F. LeManquais who died in 2000.  Born in New Haven, November 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Snyder) O'Dowd and had lived in this area since 1940.  She loved cooking, baking and going camping in their motor home, going cross country, and to the Breachway at Charlestown, RI, to Block Island and to Litchfield Beach at Bantam Lake.  She also enjoyed "sitting" with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her survivors include her four children, Robert (Kelly) LeManquais of Barkhamsted, CT John (Joanne) LeManquais of Winsted, CT, Linda (Edwin) Myers of Torrington, CT and Debra (Gary) Zuffelato of Montana; a brother Fred Dowd of WY and a sister Virginia Fortney of Southington, CT. Nine grandchildren, Christopher, Erica, Sarah, Jesse, Kate, Marisa, Matthew, Shepard and Dustin and 11 great grandchildren; Evan, Aryana, Braedin, Claire, Parker, Jackson, Harrison, Cecelia, Silas, Ryker and Lila.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Larry and John Dowd and two sisters, Eleanor Jackson and Ann Lawrence.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted.  Burial will follow in Colebrook Center Cemetery in Colebrook.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Childrens Medical Center, 8th Floor, Hartford, CT 06108.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
