East Windsor, CT: Mary Frances Gozemba, 65, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford following a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of 35 years of Donald Gozemba. Born in Hartford, October 16, 1955, she was the daughter of James and Mary (Lefeber) Thomas. She had graduated from Regional School #7 and Russell Sage College with a degree in Elementary Education and Art. She had worked at the Winsted Memorial Hospital for over 10 years at the time of its closing as their ICU Secretary. Mary was known for her kind heart and soul, and beautiful spirit. She was a very talented artist, and was able to make anything beautiful, and see the beauty in everything. She always had knitting/crocheting or needlepoint projects she was working on and she did beautiful oil paintings of landscapes and flowers, etc. She enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb by growing a big vegetable garden and houseplants. Her greatest joy, though, was cooking and sharing her love with everyone through the wonderful food she made. She hand wrote a cook book of her favorite family recipes, and was always giving everyone around her tips on cooking and baking. In addition to her husband, her survivors include her daughter, Mary-Katherine Gozemba of Ellington, CT; mother-in law Phyllis Gozemba and brother/sister in-law John and Sue Gozemba of Colebrook, CT; her nieces and nephews; and four special cousins: Peter, Glen, John and David Lefeber. Graveside services will be held at the Colebrook Center Cemetery in Colebrook, CT, at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours.
