Linda Ann Mcallister

Torrington:  Linda Ann McAllister, 81, formerly of Winsted, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Torrington.  She was the wife of the late Thomas J. McAllister who died in 2005.  Born March 28, 1941, in Mars Hill, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Ethel (Wade) Mills.  After moving to CT during her childhood, she graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford in 1959.  During her working career she got married, had four children, and worked in manufacturing - retiring in 2001.  Linda was a natural teacher and spent time as both a Boy Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was a gifted crafter that could knit and crochet anything, and volunteered her talents making prayer shawls for the sick.  She was a lifelong animal lover and took in every stray that crossed her path. She loved listening to music of all kinds and dancing whenever she could.  She had an adventurous spirit and lived fully. 

Her survivors include her children, Patrick McAllister of Texas, Elizabeth Prevalla of Winsted, and Victoria McAllister of Plainville, CT; five grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Aaron, Sean & JaCi; Three great grandchildren; Piper, Jaxson & Jasper; and one sister,  Gail Belanger of Zephyrhills, FL  She was predeceased by a son, Michael McAllister.  Memorial contributions may be made to the CT Kidney Foundation. 3000 Whitney Ave #121, Hamden, CT 06518  Phone: (203) 439-7912

Services are scheduled for Monday February 13 at 10 am at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 93 River Rd, Pleasant Valley, CT. Reception to follow.
