Joseph F. Zecchin

Winsted: Joseph F. Zecchin, passed away on Monday December 21, 2020 at his home.

Joe was the son of Joseph P. and Pauline (Cogliati) Zeechin.  Born in Winsted CT, December 17, 1935, he attended local schools and served in the Army from July 1958 - July 1964.  Joe was stationed in Germany and northern Italy for over a year as part of his duty while in the service, and received an honorable discharged in July 1964.

Joe lived in Lake Worth Florida for several years, many of them employed at Schooley Cadillac for 30 years.  Upon his return to Winsted he worked at Waring Products for 13 years.

He loved to working on and restoring old Fords.  He also liked to work around the house, working on his yard, mowing the lawn, growing his vegetable garden and painting.  He was also a photographer aficionado in regards to taking family photos.  He bought a VW beetle 1962 that he bought and drove in Italy and brought it back to the USA and he still has it. His survivors include a niece Charleen Smith and a nephew, Thomas Zecchin and many cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Charles, and sister Esther.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday December 28, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial immediately follows at St. Joseph new Cemetery on Torringford Street.
