Winsted: John William Dauscher, 56, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Hartford Hospital following a short illness. Born on July 30, 1964, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of Frances (Lungaro) Dauscher and the late John A. Dauscher. After high school he joined the Navy then came to Winsted. He was hired by the Altek Co. in Torrington, as an electrician, a position he held for the rest of his life. John enjoyed listening to heavy metal music, playing and watching golf, crossword puzzles, game shows, all different kinds of sports and NASCAR racing. In addition to his mother from Winsted, he is survived by two brothers, Paul (Beth) Dauscher and Andrew Dauscher both of Stratford; five sisters, Frances A. Sutay of Stamford, Anne Dauscher of Delaware, Mary (Craig) Frank of Milford, CT, Theresa (Daniel) Fearnley of North Carolina, Catherine Dauscher of Brooklyn, NY and 10 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one nephew. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, on Monday from 4-6 PM following the CDC guidelines for social distancing. Masks are required, only allowing a small amount of people in to see the family at a time. If you are not feeling well, please stay home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TV Channel EWTA or to St. Joseph Church.
