Irene May (Tracy) Patrone

Winsted:  Irene May (Tracy) Patrone, 93, went home to her  beloved late husband Michael J. Patrone, on Thursday, August 1, 2019, with her granddaughters Jennifer and Heather by her side.  She was Born in Industry, Maine, January 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Willis B. and Gladys May (Drew) Tracy. She attended local schools in Maine, before moving to Winsted in 1955.  She was simply a wonderful woman with an amazing heart. She lived for her family. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always there for you with a smile, a hug, some good advice and always a camera to capture it all. Her home was filled with the pictures of the amazing memories of family, friends, the beloved pets and the places they visited over the years. She loved the Boston Red Sox and watching them play on TV with her husband, never missing a game.  She loved anything chocolate (especially Steve's Hershey bars) She loved cooking, gardening and country music. In earlier years, Irene and Mike loved entertaining at home. Their house was the spot were family and friends gathered. They loved to travel too, all over the USA, especially FL and ME. They enjoyed Roaring Brook Campground in Stafford Springs where they spent many summers with family and friends. She was described by all who know her as a sweetheart.  Irene is survived by her daughters, Michelle Patrone and Steve Weir of Torrington, and her daughter Heather Monaco Ferreira (Mike); Brenda Turick and her husband David of Barkhamsted and her children James (Amy) Robinson, Jennifer McDonald and Jonathan Tharau; one brother, James Tracy of Farmingdale, ME; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Arthur and Ernest Tracy and two sisters, Grace Fish and Leona Wellman.  The family would like to thank Live-Ins for the Elderly, Foothills Visiting Nurses, especially Rachel for the extraordinary care you provided and her caregivers Carmen, Fatou, Ester and Monica, you provided such comfort for her and all of us in her final days. The most sincerest thank you to you all. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 7, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted. Burial will follow in Forest View Cemetery, Winsted.  Friends may call on Wednesday 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, prior to mass.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of CT, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Newington, CT 06075.
