Torrington: Geneva Geraldine Ellis, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Gordon Ellis who died in 2010. Born in Houton, Maine, September 9, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Ardene and Helen (Scott) Boles and had spent most of her life in the Winsted, area. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Danfield Thread after 35 years of service. She was a very hard worker. She loved doing gardens and canning her own vegetables. Earlier on she raised miniature collies. She loved horses and trained a lot of them. She worked pony pulls and competed in them. She was the only woman at that time to do it. She loved to line dance and took lessons for it, found a band called Nashville North and was good friends with all of them. She also loved pot luck dinners at her church. Her passion however was crafts. Knitting, crocheting, and sewing for missions with her church friends at Full Gospel Light House Church in Torrington, but most of all, quilting was her favorite thing she loved to do. She also loved hummingbirds, she keep a beautiful garden and her favorite flower was yellow roses, she loved to bake cookies and was the patient advocate president at Litchfield Woods. Most of all she loved her dog Bridget, and she was always with her. Her survivors include her children, Vinita (Brian) Patterson of Norfolk, Arden Tidd of Maine, Glen "Rocky" (Deana) Tidd of Ohio, Marty (Rose) Vincen of New York; 12 grandchildren, Dana, Christina, Joshua, Arden, Jr., Kathy, Aaron, Matthew, Jonathan, Adam, Jennifer, Glen Jr. and Rebecca; three sisters, "Bunny" Scott and "Toni" Glidden both of Maine and Janet King of North Carolina; two brothers, Denny Boles and Sonny Boles; 18 great grandchildren; a brother in law, Dana (Liz) Ellis of Barkhamsted and sister in law, Sue (Tom) Puhalski of Barkhamsted. She was predeceased by a son, Dana Tidd. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
