Franklin (Si) Willis Hall died peacefully on November 19, 2020 at the age of 89.
Franklin was born on February 17, 1931 in New Milford, PA to Willis and Louise (Gunn) Hall. He was a graduate of The Gilbert School and married Marian Santoro on June 16, 1956.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Marian; his son Gregory (Kristin) Hall and their children Gregory (GJ) Hall and Geoffrey (Hannah) Hall, his daughter Diane (Ken) Quick their children Karaline (Chris) Venezia, Lindsey (Nick) Depew, Kenneth Quick Jr., his daughter Valerie (Richard) Berger and their children Victoria Berger and Nicholas (Amy) Berger, and son Thomas (Martha) Hall and their child Michaela Hall. He is also survived by five great grandchildren Grace and Sophie Depew, Chace and Presley Venezia and Warren Berger. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
He served in the Navy and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Frank was also a Scout Master for Troop 17, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, an Usher on Saturday evenings at St Joseph’s Church and a Trustee of The Gilbert School.
Frank enjoyed camping with his family along with hunting and fishing trips with his friends. He was also an avid golfer. Frank and Marion always enjoyed their Sunday night coffee klatch and trips to Cape Cod.
Frank worked for 33 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Winsted before retiring in 1992. During his retirement he worked at The Maloney Funeral Home. After all of those years trudging through snow and ice, he and Marian became “snowbirds” and began enjoying their winters in Winter Haven, FL with friends, while looking forward to returning to CT in the summer to enjoy their family time.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for December 5, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Church in Winsted. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Joseph’s Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Burial will take place at St. Joseph New Cemetery in the spring on a date to be announced.
