Denise Mae Lagasse

Torrington: Denise Mae Lagasse 59, born in Winsted CT on November 4, 1963, passed away December 28th 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends after fighting a short battle with cancer.

Denise, above all, loved her family. Her family was everything to her. Her greatest accomplishments were her sons Craig Lagasse (Waterbury) and Brandon Lagasse (Torrington). Her rock was her "Sissy" Lori A Wilkinson (Sandisfield Ma.), the love of her life was her granddaughter Sophia Lagasse (Los Cruces).

Denise's smile lit up a room! She was the life of every party! You could be in a room of 100 people but could give you her complete attention and make you feel you were the only one there. She is missed dearly by her many friends and family.

Denise loved to cook and excelled at it. Live music got her up and dancing. She hated the cold, but loved the summertime, she loved beaching it in Squam or Cape Cod. She tended her flowers and decorated her yard, often with crafts she had made herself. She loved motorcycles. She took classes, got her motorcycle license, bought a Honda Rebel, rode it maybe twice and sold it! She wanted her license, and she got it! When she wanted to achieve something, nothing stood in her way. She was also crazy about Irises, the color purple, her garden, hummingbirds, dragon flies, Neil Diamond, country music, jazz, 80’s music, her two dogs, Chloe & Argos, and two cats, Nala & Stella.

Denise worked for USPS as a rural carrier for 30 years. She was so proud when she graduated from NWCC in 2016 with an associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding. While there she was inducted into the honors society. She started her own billing and coding business which she ran until her death.

In summing up, these words give a brief look at Denise. A beautiful soul full of love, laughter, and caring.

Denise was predeceased by her mother Francis Soldan, father Roule Galant and her beloved nephew Nicholas E Moore. Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut St., Winsted, CT from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2023.  A celebration of life and burial will take place at a later time. Donations in lieu of flowers can be left in the donation box/basket during the wake or sent to Brandon Lagasse 45 Hemlock Rd., Torrington, CT 06790
