David James Pequignot

Winsted, David James Pequignot, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, following a lengthy illness.  Born in Winsted, August 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Edwin F. and Beatrice Ramsbel (Curtin) Pequignot.  He had attended local schools, graduating from The Gilbert School, class of 1954.  After graduation, he enlisted in the USMC where he served until his release in 1955.  After returning home he worked for the Winsted PD, making it up through the ranks to Detective. He then moved to Florida where he worked in the Security Division for Regal Hotels for 21 years.  His survivors include his companion, Gayle Nicosia of Winsted; three sons, Glen (Jennifer), David and Daryl Pequignot and his daughter, Therese Pequignot; six granddaughters, Mariah, Brittany, Heather, Chelsea, Rachael & Amber.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Gene and his twin brother, Don. Graveside services will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM. At St. Joseph New Cemetery in Winsted, CT
