Barbara J. Welcome

Winsted:  Barbara J. Welcome, 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, following a brief illness.  She was the wife of William Welcome who survives.  Born in Concord, NH, November 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Karl W. and Bertha L. (Gaskell) Corser.  After moving to Winsted in 1946, she graduated from The Gilbert School in 1947.  She grew up on a farm and and loved all farm animals.  She also loved her family and was deeply devoted to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church.  In addition to her husband of 70 years, she is survived by her children, Virginia Coppinger, James (Mary Ann) Welcome, William (Jean) Welcome, Jr., Robert (_Karen) Welcome, John (Xhan) Welcome, Shirley (Peter) McKenna, Thomas Welcome and fiance, Robin Morris, 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a daughter in law, Gwyn Welcome.  She was predeceased by two sons, Brian and Gary Welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bryan and Gary Welcome Scholarship, c/o The Gilbert School. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
