Andrew Nicholas Lazzaro

Winsted:  Andrew Nicholas Lazzaro, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  He was the husband of Angela (Tarascio) Lazzaro.  Born in Winsted, February 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Avanzato) Lazzaro, and had lived here all of his life.  Andy had attended local schools as well as Oliver Wolcott Technical School in Torrington.  He started his working career with Angelo Garafalo as an auto mechanic and slowly progressed to other jobs as he got older and finally retiring from Reynolds & Reynolds as a production planner. He loved old cars, playing cards with the boys at the Knights of Columbus, spending time with his family, going fishing, spending time with his granddaughters and thought the world of his dog, "Bentley".  Andy appreciated easy listening music, enjoyed doing the collection at St. Joseph Church for many years, he was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and longtime member of the Elks Club #372 in Torrington.  In recent years, he loved watching the Barrett Jackson Car Auction on TV. In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, he is survived by his children, Michael (Karen) Lazzaro of Colebrook and Lisa (Alan) Terryberry of Farmington; two granddaughters, Anastasia and Mychaela Lazzaro.  There are no services scheduled at this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, Winsted CT. Maloney Funeral Home in Winsted, is handling arrangements.
