Winsted: Sharon Lynn Livengood, 72, passed away at Valerie Manor in Torrington on Thursday, July 11, 2019, following a long illness. She was the wife of Thomas Livengood for the past 25 years. Born in Chicago, IL, November 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Louis K. and Rosa Maria (Ponozzo) Tallant and had lived in Winsted since 1978. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Roy L’s Laundromat for 15 years. Sharon was a strong woman that conquered many adversities, she had a good sense of humor and loved cooking and baking for the holidays and other special occasions for her family. She loved preparing Sunday dinners and enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Cape Cod, watching TV, (the old shows) and when she was younger, took care of her mother when she needed her. She was all about family. She liked softball, bowling, going to tag sales and prepared for anyone's needs and always had snacks in her purse for everyone that needed them. She also had a fondness for dogs and loved puppies. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a son, Todd (Lillian) Fanella of Farmington; a daughter, Julie (Thomas) (Fanella) Beckwith of Winsted, and two grandchildren, Anthony (Jillian) Cappabianca and Taylor Beckwith. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Paul Tallant and a sister, June Kay Tallant Weiss. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.
