Colebrook: Rita P. Vaccari, 94, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019, after a brief illness, at the home of her daughter, in New Hartford. She was the wife of the late Paul A. Vaccari who died in 2014. Born in Milton, NY, January 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Delia (Schwim) Rush and had lived in Colebrook since 1968. After she completed high school, she was employed as a radar instructor with Pratt & Whitney. At 75 years old, Rita took her first computer class at Northwestern and became the communication hub and heart of the family. On her IPAD or the phone, she could be counted on to listen with patience, love and understanding and voice her encouragement, wisdom and laughter. Over the years, she became everyone's best friend and will be dearly missed and best remembered for putting the needs of others above her own. Rita's graveside services will be held on October 5, 2019 at 11:00am at the Beech Hill Cemetery on Beech Hill Road in Colebrook, CT. In addition to her daughter, Sheila Smith, she is survived by three boys, Donald Vaccari, Daniel Vaccari and Paul D. Vaccari; a brother, Vincent Rush; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
