Mae G. Fecto

Winsted:  Mae G. Fecto, 95, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Nobel Horizons in Salisbury, CT, following a brief illness.  She was she wife of the late Charles J. "Spud" Fecto for 66 years.  Born in Winsted, October 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline Gillette and had lived here all of her life.  She had attended local schools and was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1942.  After graduation, she had worked as a legal secretary for Attorneys, Elbert Manchester and later on for Ells, Quinlan and Eddy. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Bank and was a Director for the Auxiliary for Community Health.  Mae was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church and loved volunteering at the Winsted Thrift Shop for 30 years.  She also enjoyed cooking American cuisine for her family and shopping with her granddaughter Alicia.  She also enjoyed watching comedy shows on TV, old classic movies, "Gone with the wind", being her favorite and songs and music from the 40's.  Now she rests peacefully, reunited with "Spud".  Her survivors include two sons, James C. Fecto of Salisbury and Jay J. (Marcia) Fecto of Burrville; a granddaughter, Alicia of New York City and step-granddaughter, Amanda Treadway of Winsted.  She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Gillette.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 10:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 160 Main Street, Winsted.  Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Church.
