Katherine M. Riiska

Torrington:  Katherine M. (Kelley) Riiska 90, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017, with her family by her side.  She was the daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Williams) Kelley.  Katherine was predeceased by her husband, John Riiska and is survived by her three daughters, Robin Lamoureux of Portland, OR, Noelle Winn and her husband Thomas of Winsted, Cherie Lamoureux of Aston, PA; three grandchildren, Jethro Sterpka of Winsted and Kyle and Katherine Bancer of Aston, PA.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Graham S. Kelley and James Kelley.  Kay was an adventurous person who loved her family.  Katherine graduated from Northwestern CT Community College.  She was a realtor for Century 21 and later owned her own business, Kay Riiska Realty.  She also did appraising for local banks.  She was a member of the VFW and the Winsted Senior Center and looked forward to their events and trips to the casinos.  After retirement, Kay spent part of the year in Yuma, AZ where she marveled at the dessert beauty, participated in a card group and rode her bike around the mobile park.  Her second home was in Southwick, MA, where she enjoyed playing her keyboard at weekly jam sessions.  Memorial arrangements will be private.  Contributions may be made in Kay's memory to Helping Hands in Winsted.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
