Winsted: Josephine LaGamba, 95 passed away at her home on Sunday, October 13, 2019, after a long illness. She was born in Frosolone, Italy, February 2, 1924, the daughter of the late Michael and Domenica (Russo) LaGamba and had lived here since she was six years old. She had attended St. Anthony's School. She had worked at the Gilbert Clock Shop, Aetna Insurance, and retired from the Seth Thomas Clock Co. Josephine loved to dance, going to church, and traveling on vacation all over the United States. She especially liked Yellowstone National Park. She was a good cook specializing in Italian food. She also liked reading books and loved classic movies especially "Gone with the Wind". Josephine leaves one brother, John LaGamba and his wife Madeline of Torrington; her sister in law, Elizabeth LaGamba of Torrington and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas LaGamba and three sisters, Deletta Cornelio, Coreen Nicosia, and Helen LaGamba. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted. Burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery. Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral, 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM, prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or St. Anthony School.
