Emilio J. Zappulla

Winsted:  Emilio J. Zappulla, 92, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017, after a short illness, at his home.  He was the husband of Anna (Bazzano) Zappulla.  Born in Floridia, Italy, January 23, 1925, son of the late Franco and Maria (Ortizi) Zappulla, he came to this country in 1961 and retired from the Torrington Company with 30 years of service.  In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Frank Zappulla and his wife Mary Ellen of Boston, MA and Salvatore Zappulla and his wife Jennifer of Manchester, CT; a brother, Giuseppe Zappulla of Floridia, Italy and five grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Robert, Amanda and Lily.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph new Cemetery in the spring.  Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street from 9:00-10:30 just prior to mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
