Provincetown, MA:  Eileen Ann Barrett, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Wingate in Harwich, MA.  She was 63.  Born in Winsted, CT, daughter of the late William L. and Virginia (Deming) Barrett, she was the youngest of eight children.  She graduated from Avon, CT High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Boston College.  After graduation in 1977, she arrived in Provincetown.  Here, fueled by her great sense of humor, she developed a large circle of friends.  She started her work career at Napi's restaurant, cooked at Mojo's and then became a chef at the Lobster Pot Restaurant.  She loved to cook and worked at the "Pot" for many years.  In her off-time, she was an avid reader, especially in the realms of philosophy and political science.  She enjoyed sitting down with the New York Times on Sunday mornings.  Brothers William Barrett of New York City, John Barrett of Great Barrington, MA, James Barrett of Winsted, CT; and sisters Lucinda Barrett Boone of Sykesville, MD, Catherine Barrett of Alexandria, NH and Mary Barrett of St. Louis, MO survive her.  She also leaves her good friends Doug Evans and Ardis Markarian of Provincetown, who helped in her care.  In addition to her many other friends, she will also be missed by her dog Spike.  The funeral mass will be celebrtated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at St. Joseph Church in Winsted, followed by interment in the Deming plot at Forest View Cemetery.  Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Strreet, Winsted, is in charge of arrangements.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
