Barbara D. Frost

Avon:  Barbara D. Frost, 89, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016.  Born in Glenside, PA, March 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Isabel (Mahoney) Marr.  Barbara had lived in Detroit, MI before moving to West Hartford in the mid-thirties.  In 1946, she moved to West Simsbury where she operated a 70 acre dairy farm for several years.  She attended McKewon Secretarial School in Hartford and was employed by G. Fox & Co. and London & Lancashire Insurance Co.  For 15 years, she was a typesetter for Lightning Press Inc. in Avon.  Barbara leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Christine Anne and Willi D. Schmidt of Riverton, CT and two beloved grandsons, Willi Dean Schmidt of Riverton and Henry Christopher Schmidt of Marietta, GA.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Memorial donations may be made to Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc., 103 Vision Way, Bloomfield, CT 06002.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
