Alice L. Machowski

Winsted:  Alice L. Machowski, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Sharon Hospital, following a short illness.  She was the wife of the late Edward A. Machowski who died in 1984.  Born in Winchester, April 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lena (Nelson) Dupont and had lived here all of her life.  In her younger days, she had worked for Mason Silk Company.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting, was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1938 and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.  Alice is survived by her children, Edward A. Machowsk, Jr. of Norfolk, Laverne Ruzbasan of Winsted and Jeanne Andrew of Hillsboro, OH; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Dale Asselin.  Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Winsted Area Ambulance Assoc., P.O.
