Joyce Ann (Jacobs) Cartelli

Joyce Ann Cartelli (Jacobs) was called home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2023

Born in Burlington, Vermont on November 25, 1936, Joyce was the daughter of the late Maynard J. Jacobs Sr. and Ruth L. Cross Jacobs. She was the cherished wife of the late Carmen J. Cartelli, who passed away in 2009, and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.

Joyce was predeceased by her brothers Maynard and Reid, and her sisters Fran and Helen. Her legacy continues through her daughter Joann, grandsons Damian (Theda) and Jared (Sarah), great-grandchildren Dylan, Sylvia, Genevieve, as well as her sister-in-law Sandra, sister-in-law Bev, dear friends Jean, Fran, Peter, Jaime and numerous nieces and nephews.

With a passion for life, family, and friends, Joyce found immense joy in her relationships. A dedicated wife to her late husband and a caring mother and grandmother, Joyce led an active life filled with travel and quality time spent with loved ones. Her kindhearted nature touched all those she met. Joyce embraced life wholeheartedly and found pleasure in tending to the flowers at her Highland Lake home.

Joyce had a love for music that extended to singing and performing with the Silver Bells and Bows choir/group. Her hobbies included bowling, visiting casinos, playing card games with friends and family members, and hosting gatherings.

Joyce had a successful career at Winsted Precision Ball where she worked for 35 years as a Quality and Inspection Control Supervisor before retiring in 1999.

An active member in her community, Joyce participated in the Winsted Senior Center, Sullivan Senior Center, and Winchester Historical Society. She also volunteered time as an usher at the Warner Theatre in Torrington.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Calling hours will be at Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, CT on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, the services will be at 12:30pm. Burial will be at Winchester Center Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
