William Bernard Kelsey

Edgewater, FL:  William B. Kelsey, 80, formerly of Winsted, CT, died peacefully at his home in Edgewater, FL on June 5, 2015.  He was the husband of the late Audrey Goodrow Kelsey and the son of the late Edward W. Kelsey and Sarah E. (Clark) Kelsey.  Born December 15, 1934 in Winsted he entered the Navy in 1952 where he served with honor and distinction and received the National Defense Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged in 1955 and he returned to Winsted, settled down, married Audrey and started a family.  He went to work for Richard’s Septic System in Torrington, CT and retired from there after 43 years of service.  Bill was very active in his community including serving as chairman of the Highland Lake Commission.  He was also an avid amateur ham radio operator, loved fishing and collecting coins.  After retiring he and Audrey settled in Edgewater, Florida were they both remained until their deaths.  Bill is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Lacasse, a granddaughter, Stepheni Lacasse and a great grandson, Riley Lacasse, 3 sisters: Mary Ellen Carlson, Carol Hague, Kathy Goddardand and Patricia Kelsey, several nieces and nephews and many friends.  He was predeceased by a brother, James Kelsey.  A graveside service will be held at the Winchester Center Cemetery, South Road, Winchester Center, CT, June 26, 2015 at 2:00pm.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
