Sharon M. C. Zygmont

                               Medical Professional and Lover of Nature
New Hartford:  Sharon M. C. Zygmont, 65, passed away on August 22, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, surrounded by her loving family.  Sharon is survived by her parents, Edward and Patricia Zygmont of New Hartford, sister, Janise, brothers, Thomas, Edward, John, David, Francis and a large extended family.  Sharon graduated from Northwestern Regional #7 High School, and went on to receive her B. S. Degree in Allied Health from the University of CT and her M.S. Degree in Medical Microbiology from the University of Georgia.  An accomplished medical scientist, Sharon held positions at Yale New Haven Hospital, the National Institute of Health in Bethesda Maryland and other medical facilities around the country.  She was employed as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Microbiologist and Medical Laboratory Inspector.  Sharon was dedicated to her family and had a great love of nature.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 29, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School, 55 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
