WINSTED - Miss Sharon Marie Kifer, age 67 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wascar and Vilma Gonzalez on Friday September 22, 2017.  Sharon was born August 22, 1948 in Marysville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma (Manley) Kifer Sr.

Sharon  lived and worked at Southbury Training School for 22 years.  Sharon also lived in Winsted and worked at LARK for 25 years. She was easily the life at any party due to her love of dance. She adored Elvis Presley, and singing was one of her favorite pastimes. She resided in Winsted with the Gonzalez family for many years who did a wonderful job of treating her like one of their own family members. Sharon thrived when she had the chance to enjoy independency, down to the details of her everyday routines. She was very family-oriented, and absolutely loved the holidays. Sharon always enjoyed a fun-colored manicure which mirrored her vibrant personality.

She is survived by her brother Charles David Kifer Jr and his wife, Janine, as well as their two children David and Valerie Kifer. In addition to her brother and his family, she also has many nieces and nephews including Nicholas Damiani and his wife Robin, Christopher Damiani and his wife Lenore, Lynn Kornita and her husband James, and Trisha Sarmiento and her husband Carlos. Sharon has several grandnieces and grandnephews, as well. Sharon was pre-deceased by her sister Beverly (Kifer) Damiani and brother-in-law Joseph Damiani.
