Winsted: Secondino Richard Nanni passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was born January 9, 1933 to Secondo and Annunziata Nanni, and was a lifelong Winsted resident. Rich knew he wanted to be a carpenter at a very early age. After working Commercial Construction right out of high school, partnered with his brother Paul Nanni at Nanni Brothers Construction for many years. He later branched off to do cabinetry and custom architectural millwork. He did what he loved most in life, making beautiful things from wood. He was a perfectionist and master carpenter. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Hazel, of 58 years. He also leaves two sons: Gregg Nanni and his wife Kirsten of West Hartford and Jay Nanni and his wife Lisa of Winsted. Rich was predeceased by his daughter Adrianne at age ten. He also leaves grandchildren Samuel, Eli, Lia and Jenna Nanni, brothers Paul Nanni of Winsted and Bernie Nanni and his wife Bunny of Barkhamsted and many nieces and nephews. Rich is predeceased by his brothers Frank Nanni, Tony Nanni, John Nanni and Alfredo Nanni. A special appreciation goes to niece, Donna Feathers and her husband John who were so caring during his illness. Also, his loving great nephew, Paul Jefferis, to whom he was a mentor and friend. Wake to be held at Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, on Thursday, July 23 (2-4pm) and (6-9pm). A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, July 24 at 11am at St Joseph Church in Winsted.
