Richard A. Portinari

Winsted:  Richard A. Portinari, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Hartford Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Born in Winsted, November 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Attillo and Maria (Vignaga) Portinari and had lived here all of his life.  Prior to his retirement, he had worked at TRW in Winsted for over 24 years.  Richard had attended local schools, was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, loved to yodel and spend time with his family and friends.  His survivors include a sister, Caroline Gubetta, two brothers, John Portinari and Mark Portinari all of Winsted; two nieces, Gail Savage (Dale) and Diana Ruopp (Stephen); two nephews, Richard Gubetta (Carol), Michael Gubetta; and three great nieces.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:30 AM from the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, to St. Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in St. Joseph new Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, 5-7 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
