West Hartland:  Philip J. Stevens, 62, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Hartford Hospital following a long illness.  He was the husband of Susan (Hazard) Stevens.  Born in Hartford, November 26, 1953, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Barbara (Gordon) Stevens and had lived in West Hartland and in the same house all of his life.  Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Howmet Corp. as a maintenance mechanic for over 20 years.  He was a 1972 graduate at Oliver Wolcott Technical School in Torrington.  Philip loved auto racing, participating as a mechanic, crew chief and spectator, he was a member and chief of the West Hartland Vol. Fire Dept. for over 40 years, was an avid NY Giants fan, enjoyed duck pin bowling and was a former member of the Kehow Tribe of Redmen.  In addition to his loving wife of 39 years, he was the proud father of his quadruplets, Jonathan Stevens and Mallory Stevens both of Terryville, Amanda Stevens and Samantha Stevens both of Winsted; a grandson, Noah Despaw and four nieces.  He also leaves three childhood friends, Wade and John Cole and Brian Crunden all of West Hartland.  He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Stevens, Jr. and a sister, Christina Stevens.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted.  Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, on Monday, January 4, from 5-8 PM.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
