Lillian Amelia Sherman

Winsted:  Lillian (Teenie) Amelia Sherman, 93 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on November 12, 2016.  Born January 3, 1923 at home in New Hartford, CT, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Cecil Theodore (Ted) Sherman; her parents, George F. H. Gudzinski and Minna Emilia Yahne and grandsons, James Allyn Sweeney and Michael Todd Sweeney.  Lillian attended elementary school in New Hartford, CT and graduated with the class of 1939 from The Gilbert School in Winsted, CT.  She leaves behind: her sister, Ella (Nickie) L. Sherman of Winsted; children, Sandra Sweeney and husband Ted, Anita Giannatasio and husband Richard, Theodore (Ted) J. Sherman, Sr. and wife Donna, all of Winsted and Laurel Stannard and husband Donald of Glendale, AZ.  Lillian also leaves nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.  There are no calling hours.  A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans in Need Committee, Riverton American Legion Post No. 159, PO Box 192, Riverton, CT 06065; or Valerie Manor Alzheimer/Dementia Unit, 1360 Torringford Street, Torrington, CT 06790.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com
