Leon S. Czerwonka

       Winsted: Leon S. Czerwonka, 76,  passed away at Hartford Hospital June 28, 2017. He was born in Hartford, CT. January 1, 1941  to the late Frances  (Boczulak) and Stephen Czerwonka. Leon served in the U. S. Navy SFM2 (E-4) for 2 years and Navy Reserves for 4 years. Leon leaves his wife of 55 years Yvonne (Dulude),  daughters Lynn Grondin (Robert) of West Hartland, CT. and Pamela Caine (Ronald Jr.) Barkhamsted CT. Three granddaughters Kayla Grondin, Ashley Caine,  Emilee  Caine  and several nieces, nephews  and cousins. Leon is also survived by a brother George (Nancy) Czerwonka .  He was predeceased by a sister Irene Chambers.
  He was a Lieutenant in  the Winsted Fire Department Cascade Engine 4 and  Deputy Chief  of Winsted Fire Police, a lifetime member of the Connecticut Fire Police Association.  
  There will be a wake at Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street Winsted, CT. 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM  Saturday July 8th 2017. A Christian  Service  well be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial  will be at St. Joseph New Cemetery immediately following the service with full military honors.
