Kathleen Smith

Norfolk:  Kathleen (Donohue) Smith, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, following a short illness.  She was the wife of the late Frank Smith, Jr. who died in 2002.  Born in Winsted, January 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Doris (Maloney) Donohue and had lived  most of her life in Winsted.  She had attended St. Anthony School and was a graduate of The Gilbert School.  She loved cooking, spending time in her kitchen garden where she took care of her flowers and herbs.  She also loved her niece and nephew.  Kathleen is survived by her sisters, Doreen Murray of Port St. Lucie, FL and Sue Ann Marolda and her husband Dr. Theodore F. Marolda of Norfolk, a nephew, Theodore J. Marolda and a niece, Gretchen Marolda.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 9:30 AM from the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, to St. Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to going to church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph new Cemetery in the spring.  Memorial contributions may be made to All Hands Volunteers, 6 County Road, Suite #6, Mattapoisett, MA 027339.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
