James Edward Carrozzo

April 2, 1943 ~ March 22, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old

·  Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather

James Edward Carrozzo, 73, of New Hartford passed peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2017. Jim was the loving husband of Ann (Connole) Carrozzo for over 53 years.  Jim was born in Winsted on April 2, 1943; the son of the late John and Virginia (Ransom) Carrozzo. Jim graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical School in 1961. He joined the local electrical union right out of high school and worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2004. Jim was a member of the Elks and a member of living the good life; enjoying his morning coffee waving to the neighbors going to work; beautifying his yard from dawn to dusk and watching the wildlife through his window.  Jim’s most precious accomplishment was his family, enjoying and taking advantage of every treasured moment as well as cherishing his extensive circle of friends. Jim took pleasure in giving and doing unconditionally for others. He had an amazing sense of humor, a strong spirit and a sincere charm that touched everyone; never departing Jim’s company without a profound warmness and a smile.  When Jim wasn’t adoring his family, doing for others or working in his yard, he enjoyed his Cowboys, his Yankees, UCONN Basketball, annual hunting in Vermont, fishing, cruising topless in his Miata and travelling with Ann.  Among his survivors are his wife Ann, his children Christine Goodall and husband Bob of Riverton, Mark Carrozzo and wife Amanda of New Hartford, as well as his five grandchildren, Courtney, Kaitlyn, Kristyn and Caycie Carrozzo and Nathan Goodall. His sisters Janice Hotchkiss, JoAnn Clark and husband Jeff of Goshen; his late brother Jack Carrozzo and sister-in-law Ellen; 10 sisters and brothers-in-law; 20 nieces and nephews.   Funeral services for Jim will be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church in Winsted. Calling hours will be at Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Brigham and Women’s Hospital “Thorton House and IMP” BWH Development Office c/o Tina Lang-Stuart, 116 Huntington Avenue, 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02116.
