Eleanor "Ellie" Carlson

Torrington:  Eleanor "Ellie" Bailly Carlson, 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington with her family by her side.  Born in Winsted, December 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Bailly and Anna (Silicata) Bailly Hackett, and had lived in this area all of her life.  Prior to her retirement, she had worked for Cigna and retired from Lincoln Financial.  She had attended local schools in Winsted, was a member of VFW Post 296 Auxillary, the McCarthy Senior Center and was a life long communicant of St. Joseph Church all in Winsted.  Ellie is survived by her loving children, Bob Carlson of Torrington, A. Elaine Murphy of New Hartford and Robin Hanjack of Enfield; two sisters, Barbara Bailly Dietrich of Farmington and Patricia Bougie of Torrington; ten grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Winsted, burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street on Saturday prior to mass from 9:00 - 10:30.  Memorial donations may be made to the McCarthy Senior Center or the VFW Post 296 Auxillary in her memory.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
