Edith J. Pasquariello

West Hartland:  Edith J. Pasquariello passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the age of 93 at Rose Haven in Litchfield.  She was born on August 24, 1922 in West Hartland in the house she lived in all of her life.  She was the sixth child of Andrea and Rose Pasquariello.  She was predeceased by all of her siblings: her sister Amelia P. Zordan, her brother Anthony Pasquariello, sister Felicia Pasquariello, brother Attorney Paul Pasquariello and sister Anna Pasquariello.
Edith attended the Mill Street School in West Hartland and graduated from The Gilbert School in Winsted in the class of 1940.  She was employed by the State of Connecticut her entire working career.  Following graduation from Gilbert she worked at the Peoples State Forest in the Pleasant Valley section of Barkhamsted.  She then worked for the Connecticut Motor Vehicle Department in Torrington for several years and later as a secretary at the Northwestern Community College in Winsted.
Edith loved her family, friends and neighbors.  She also had a deep fondness for nature, the outdoors and animals.  She enjoyed cooking Italian dinners for family and friends.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Winsted.  She was an active member of the Third Order of St. Francis, the Riverton Grange and the West Hartland Historical Society.
Edith is survived by her niece Rose Marie P. Zaharek, her nephew Anthony A. Pasquariello and niece Margaret P. Holtman.  She was predeceased by a niece Alice P. Abetz.  She is survived by ten great nieces and nephews and sixteen great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 20, at St. Joseph Church.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery on Torringford Street.  Friends may call at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to mass.
