Deletta Mary (LaGamba) Cornelio

Deletta Mary (LaGamba) Cornelio died peacefully at Litchfield Woods Nursing home in Torrington, On Friday August 25, 2017.  Deletta was born in Frosolone, Italy on May 19, 1922. Daughter of the late Michael and Domemica (Russo) LaGamba, She was predeceased by her husband Santino P. Cornelio of 50 years of marriage, She came to America at 8 years of age and lived in Winsted most of her life.

Deletta worked as a seamstress and had a passion for Art.  She painted many wonderful pictures that are enjoyed throughout the family. She loved working on her yard planting flowers.

Deletta is survived by her brother John LaGamba and his wife Madeline and sister Josephine LaGamba.  She is also survived by her four children, son David Cornelio of Milford, daughter Joanne Richardson and her husband Arthur of Winsted, daughter Patricia Olszanski and her husband Thomas of Winsted and daughter Gloria Faye of Winsted. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: granddaughter Bridgett Barown and husband Bart of Colebrook, granddaughter Tessa Barrett and husband Daniel of Terryville, granddaughter Sommer Connell of Winsted, granddaughter Lindsay Richardson of Winsted, And granddaughter Mackenzie Richardson of Riverton.  7 great grandchildren: Zachary, Daniel, Jacob, Hayden, Nicholas, Jacob and Tiffany. She was predeceased by her husband Santino Cornelio, brother, Nick LaGamba, sister Helen LaGamba and sister Coreen Nicosia. 

Calling hours will be held Friday September 1, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M at Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut St. Winsted, CT 06098.  Follow by a mass of Christian burial 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church in Winsted.
