Christina Marie Travaglin

Winsted:  Christina Marie Travaglin, 39, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.  She was born June 22, 1976 in Torrington, CT.  She is survived by her husband Donald Travaglin and daughter Olivia Travaglin.  Also surviving are her mother, Mary (Stannard) Consiglio; father, Corrodo Consiglio; sisters, Maria (Consiglio) Bordonaro and Angelica (Consiglio) Moloney.  Christina attended St. Anthony School and The Gilbert School before attending Becker College in Leicester, MA where she earned her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science.  Christina was a certified Veterinary Technician that worked as the supervisor and head technician at Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital in Granby, CT; she worked at Salmon Brook for 17 years.  Christina loved spending time with her friends and family.  She was a passionate lover of animals and an avid equestrian who passed the talent down to her daughter and sisters.  She also shared a love for auto racing and snow cross with her husband and daughter.  She was an incredibly strong woman who will be missed dearly by anyone who was in her presence.  Her visitation will be held from 5-8 PM at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted, on Monday, October 6, 2015.  The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 7, at St. Joseph Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery, Winsted.  A celebration of her life will follow at the Knights of Columbus in Winsted.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to St. Anthony School, C/O St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
