Carol H. (Hoffman) Devanney

Farmington, CT:  Carol H. Devanney, 92, formerly of Worthington Drive, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford following a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Devanney who died on June 27, 2011.  Born in Buffalo, NY, July 28, 1925 and was a long time resident of Winsted before moving to Farmington in 2004.  Carol attended nursing school at St. Joseph College where she was a private duty nurse caring for terminally ill patients until her retirement.  She was an active member of the St.; Joseph's Parish in Winsted; establishing the the Two Hearts Prayer Group.  She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.  Her family was her life and her love.  Carol is survived by her nine children  and their spouses, John and Linda Devanney of Winsted, Dennis and Pat Devanney of Winsted,  Raymond "Remi" and Ellen Devanney of Manchester, Pat and Brian Hotchkiss of Watertown, Sean Devanney of Coral Springs, FL, Becky and Joseph Moran of Farmington, Jennifer and Bob Barry of Bloomfield, CT, Dr. James Devanney of Norfolk and Damien and Joy Devanney of Winsted, She was blessed with 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carol's life at a mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, November 15th at St. Patrick's  Church 110 Main Street, Farmington at 5:00 PM.  Calling hours will be before mass 2:30-4:30 PM at St. Patrick's Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School 55 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098. or the Franciscan Home Care & Hospice in Meriden.  To leave an online condolence please visit www.maloneyfuneral.com.
